Privacy policy for Vinka Viper driver’s application

Summary

This document explains the principles and practices that apply to Vinka Oy’s Viper driver’s application in order to ensure the protection of end user’s privacy. The application collects and processes information about the end user according to this policy statement in order to facilitate the operation of transport and logistics services.

Who is responsible for the data?

The transport and logistics service provider is the controller and owner of the data. Vinka Oy as technology provider is the processor of the data. The processing is alway done based on a separate agreement between Vinka Oy and the service provider.

Collecting and using information

Vinka Oy will process information related to the customer and service. The data is collected from the driver’s application and from the driver data maintenance tool. Vinka Oy collects the following information about the driver:

Name
Phone number
E-mail address
Application access code used or user identification
Operator the driver works for
Driver’s location data during driver’s activity in the transport or logistics service
Event (pick-ups, drop-offs, customer no-shows, breaks) times and locations during the operation of the transport or logistics service

Vinka Oy uses this data for the following purposes:

Optimizing the use of the transport and logistics fleets
Automating the distribution of work to vehicles within the the transport and logistics services
Monitoring the transport and logistics services
Reporting the performance of the transport and logistics services

Vinka Oy uses the data only for purposes accepted and requested by the service provider responsible for organizing the transport and logistics services.

Background location

This application collects location data to select most suitable routes for your schedule and to track the progress of the schedule even when the application is closed or not in use. The location is not registered when application is closed. You should enable location background tracking for application to work properly.

Disclosing personal information

Vinka Oy will disclose personal data only in accordance with the service location’s legislation and a separate agreement with the service provider.

Security

Vinka Oy agrees the detailed level of required security measures with the service provider. However, the minimum viable level of security will always comply with the local legislation of the service location.
